WISH-HOME NEIGHBOURHOOD

The Wish-Home Neighbourhood is a collaborative installation piece that was developed during a year-long artist residency, in 2013, at the YWCA Saskatoon Crisis Residence & Shelter. The ‘neighbourhood’ is formed of a plural number of Wish-Homes; wherein the content of each Wish-Home was produced by a family or individual resident staying at the shelter. The concept of the Wish-Home is intended to offer a sense of hope to these women and families in transition. Residents on the crisis floor have thirty days to relocate and find a place to live.
